John Woo Goes Back to 1949
Variety reports that John Woo is set to direct 1949, a big budget romance that will start as soon as he has finished his epic Red Cliff. Based on true events at the end of WWII and the final years of the Chinese Civil War, the $40 million Chinese language film will star Chang Chen and Korea’s Song Hye-kyo and Chang Chen.
