JAXA｜はやぶさカプセル内の微粒子の起源の判明について
宇宙航空研究開発機構（JAXA）は、はやぶさ搭載の帰還カプセルにより持ち帰られた、サンプル収納容器（※）からの微粒子の採集とカタログ化を進めています。 サンプルキャッチャーA室から特殊形状のヘラで採集された微粒子をSEM（走査型電子顕微鏡）にて観察および分析の上、1,500個程度の微粒子を岩石質と同定いたしました。更に、その分析結果を検討したところ、そのほぼ全てが地球外物質であり、小惑星イトカワ由来であると判断するに至りました。 採集された微粒子のほとんどは、サイズが10ミクロン以下の極微粒子であるため取扱技術について特別なスキルと技術が必要な状況です。JAXAは、初期分析（より詳細な分析）のために必要な取扱技術と関連装置の準備を進めています。 ※ サンプル収納容器内部は、サンプルキャッチャーA室及びB室と呼ばれる2つの部屋に分かれています。 添付資料1：はやぶさ帰還カプセルの試料容器から
