「Windows 8」の発売は10月26日 「Surface for Windows RT」も同日発売米Microsoftは7月18日（現地時間）、次期OS「Windows 8」の発売日を10月26日（金曜日）と正式に発表した。同日、Windows 8搭載PCと単体のWindows 8を購入できるようになる。 以前の発表によると、同社のブランドタブレット「Surface for Windows RT」も同日発売の見込みだ（Windows 8 ProモデルはWindows 8発売の90日後）。 Windows 8の製品エディションはARM版の「Windows RT」を含めて4つ。まだ各エディションの価格は発表されていないが、Windows XP SP3以降のユーザーは、2013年1月31日まで39.99ドルで「Windows 8 Pro」にオンラインアップグレードできる。
