だれでもWikiサイトを構築できる「Google Sites」が正式提供
Googleは米国時間5月21日遅くに、その公式ブログ上で、簡単にウェブサイトを構築できる「Google Sites」サービスに関して、あらゆるGoogleの登録ユーザー向けに提供を開始したと発表した。 これまでGoogle Sitesは、「Google Apps」スイートのアカウントを保有し、独自ドメインを持っている企業のみが利用できるサービスだった。 （早くは1998年に遡る）以前から無料で提供されてきた、他のウェブサイト構築サービスとは一線を画する特徴として、Google Sitesでは、共同制作型のサービスを実現する。GoogleのエンジニアリングマネージャーであるAndrew Zaeske氏は、今回の発表の中で、Google Sitesが「チームプロジェクト、企業イントラネット、コミュニティーグループ、教室、クラブ、家族の最新コミュニケーションなど、さまざまな用途に適合する」理想
