ibus.el in Launchpad

iBus の風評被害を抑えるよう活動していきたい - Ghosthacks

Ubuntu 9.10 おいて日本語入力環境に iBus が採用されたそうなのだけど、これまで SCIM を使っていた人達からすると機能不足に見えるようだ。そのため iBus に対する不満があちこちから聞こえてくる。まず、きちんと説明しておきたいことがある。SCIM はもう過去のものだ。ほぼメンテナが不在な状態に陥っている SCIM をこの先何年も生かし続ける作業は非常に困難だと思っている。実際、Momonga Linux において SCIM を GNOME と KDE のどちらの環境でもストレスなく動かすには、第六感というか、エスパーというか、超常の力を発揮してようやく動いている状態だ。 iBus は SCIM に代わる救世主であることは間違いない。ただ、上記のような不満が出てくるのは、iBus 本体の問題というよりには、おそらく ibus-anthy の機能不足の面があるからだろう。
