東京都区部 - Wikipedia
東京都区部（とうきょうとくぶ）は、東京都東部の23の特別区から構成される区域[3]。東京都の都庁所在地[注 1]で、一般的には東京23区と呼ばれることが多い。 元は府県制と市制による東京府東京市だったが、東京府と東京市を廃した1943年（昭和18年）7月の東京都制施行後に旧東京市域を指してこのように称することとなった。東京府制を廃した1947年（昭和22年）5月の地方自治法施行後もこの呼称は継続して使用されている。また、現在も東京都区部を1つの都市として扱う事が多い[注 2]。 名称[編集] 市町村などの単一の地方公共団体ではないため、正式名称はない。ただし、総務省の全国地方公共団体コードでは「特別区の区域」とされている。また、多極分散型国土形成促進法（昭和63年法律第83号[4]）第4条においては、「東京都の特別区の存する区域」とあり、続けて「（以下「東京都区部」という。）」とされている
