Leopard の新機能 Stacks と似た Piles という機能の噂がかつてあった Piles の特許申請は 1994年、Panther の新機能として噂になったのは 2003年 WWDC07 雑感を書いたときに思い出せなかったのですが、Stacks に似ているのは、かつて噂された Piles という機能だということが、スラッシュドット ジャパンの記事へのコメントでわかりました。Mac OS X v.10.3 Panther の開発時に話題になったようです1。 また情報筋によると、Appleが1994年に申請し2001年に取得が認められた「piles (束)」に関するGUI表現の特許が実際に使われる模様だ。Pilesは一連のファイル集合を固まりとして表現する。 この Piles を想像して、Flash のデモとして作ったサイトまであります。以下の画像のような感じです。この Piles
