iPod touch版「PlaceEngine クライアント」、クウジットが開発
クウジットは2月1日、iPod touch に対応した「PlaceEngine クライアントソフト」を開発することを発表した。iPod touch用のSDK公開後にテストリリースを予定している。 PlaceEngineクライアントソフトは、Wi-Fi電波を利用した位置情報サービスである「PlaceEngine」APIを利用し、すでにPlaceEngineを導入しているウェブサイトをiPod touchのSafari上で閲覧することができるというもの。 オフラインでの現在位置取得（ローカルDB機能）を利用すれば、インターネット接続されていない状況でも位置情報を取得することができるようになる。 例えば、レストランガイドなどのローカル情報検索サービスに、PlaceEngineによる自位置取得機能が加わると、移動するたびに現在位置周辺の情報が更新されるサービスも提供できるようになるという。 クウジ
