なまけものになりたくて - gnome-shellに乗り換えてみる
最初は気に入って使っていたUnityですが、だいぶ慣れてきた事もあって[Gnome-Shell]も試してみたくなりました。 うそです、「Unityが嫌になってきた」というのが本音です。 期待の[gnome-shell]ですが、デフォルトではインストールされませんので、以下コマンドでインストールの必要があります。 gnome3の詳細についてはこちらで確認してください。 sudo apt-get install gnome-shell ついでにデスクトップテーマやアイコンテーマをカスタマイズするために、gnome-tweak-toolsもインストールしておきましょう。 sudo apt-cache search gnome-tweak-tool インストールが完了したら、ログアウトもしくは再起動でログイン画面に戻ります。 ログイン画面に戻ったら、下図のように、歯車のアイコンをクリックし
GNOME Shell Extension でGNOME3をカスタマイズ
GNOME3、しばらく使っているけれど、やはりちょっと使い辛いです。 GNOME3.0はもう仕方がない、未完成だったということで勘弁してやるとして、GNOME3.2になってgnome-tweak-toolでいろいろと設定をいじれるようになった (例えばウィンドウのタイトルバーに最小化・最大化ボタンを表示させることができるようになったし、デスクトップに表示するアイコンを選べるようになった) けれども、やっぱり使い勝手はおかしいままです。 まず一番の問題。電源オフをマウス操作だけで呼び出せないこと。画面最上部のバーにユーザー名が表示されていて、そこをクリックすると「サスペンド」のメニューが表示されますが、電源オフはありません。この状態でAltキーを押すと電源オフメニューが現れるのですが…サスペンドを使うと大抵マシンが挙動不審になるので、モバイルなら知りませんけれどもデスクトップではまず使いませ
