ゾンビ企業というワードがある。個人的には経済学者が安易につかう想像力が不足しているワードだと思う。何年も前からいっていることだが、景気が悪いと「ゾンビ企業」といわれる企業が増えて、景気がよくなると「ゾンビ企業」が減っている。つまり単に総需要不足では、素晴らしい財やサービスを提供できたり、できる機会があっても実現できない、ということにすぎない。もちろん常識的に「こりゃだめだ」という企業もあるだろう。だが、ゾンビ企業と経済学者やマスコミが濫用しがちなこのワードにはいつも注意が必要だともう20年近く思っている。 ゾンビ企業仮説についての批判は、岩田規久男先生の本についてのこのエントリーなど参照。 また景気が回復するとゾンビ企業が減る、つまり企業の経営が好転することでゾンビという偽のレッテルがはがれる、という効果があると思う。以下のデータをみても景気回復局面では「ゾンビ企業」が減少している。 例え
