Mac OSXのサービス管理にはlaunchdが使われている（OSX 10.4以降）。時代はXMLの流れに沿って、サービスの管理もXMLファイル形式（plist）で行われている。冗長的になりやすいXMLではあるが、システム側から見れば使い勝手の良いフォーマットだ。 メイン画面 だが人が編集するのには向いていない。そこでこれだ。 今回紹介するオープンソース・ソフトウェアはLingon、launchd設定ファイルを編集するソフトウェアだ。 launchdでは、サービスの名称、実行ファイルパス、実行時間について設定ができる。Lingonはこれらの項目をGUIから入力、選択することで設定できるようにしてくれるソフトウェアだ。 エキスパートモードではXMLを直に編集できる。 しっかり記述しようと思うと、意外と面倒なのでLingonを使うと手軽に書けるようになる。あるファイルが更新されたり、フォルダに

思い出したように Lingon というソフトの使い方に関する情報がないかと探している。便利だよというのはあるし、やり方を紹介されているのを見ても確かに簡単そうなのだが、どうももう一つよく解らないんですよね。 ぼくの理解している範囲では Mac OSX 10.4 以降から Launchd 機能というのが追加されたらしく、cron のように指定した時間とかにスクリプトなんかを実行してくれるらしい。で、そのファイルを簡単に書き出してくれるのが Lingon というソフトらしいのだ。 先日、Macworld の【Automatically restart a crashed program】というエントリでも取り上げられていた。例えば Quicksilver とかが落ちてしまった場合、クラッシュログを読み取って自動で再起動してくれるという設定ができるらしいのだ。 確かに Quicksilver が
