最近「偽学術誌」なるものが急増しているそうだ (Motherboard の記事、The New York Times の記事、本家 /. 記事より)。 昔は学術誌の数も現在よりは少なく、学術誌といえば「Nature」や「Science」といった権威あるものも多かった。学会なども開催しているようなこういった学術誌に掲載されている論文は査読も通っており、真っ当な研究であるとされていた。しかし新たな出版物を立ち上げるのが容易となった今日、「偽学術誌」なるものが雨後の筍のように出現しているという。これらの偽学術誌は掲載にあたり数十万円、またカンファレンスに参加するのに更に数十万円積む必要がある場合もあるそうだ。厄介なことにこの偽学術誌は著名な学術誌に名前をよく似せていることが多い。例えば今年開催された「Entomology-2013」というカンファレンスは昆虫学分野の権威ある学術誌「Entomol
