Adobeは2011年、Flash Playerの対象範囲を縮小した。モバイルデバイス向けブラウザプラグインを廃止し、開発リソースを競合するウェブ標準に移したのだ。 しかし、同社はFlashに見切りを付けようとしているわけではない。 Flashプログラマーとのコミュニケーションの修復を図るAdobeは米国時間2012年2月22日、Flash Playerのロードマップを発表し、「Cyril」および「Dolores」という開発コード名が付けられたバージョンなど、2012年にさまざまな改良を施すことを約束した。ロードマップにはさらに、「Flashランタイムが今後5～10年にわたって開発者のニーズに応えられるように、われわれはFlash Playerのコードベースも最新化していくつもりだ」と書かれている。 「ランタイム」とは、Flashの「ActionScript」言語で記述されたプログラムを実
