第八章 ゲームデザインの実際 最終章 クリス氏へのインタビュー Web版の編集にあたって このテキストはもともと、1982年にコンピュータゲームデザイナーのクリス・クロフォード氏 (Chris Crawford) によって執筆されたものです。1997年にスー・ピーボディ教授 (Prof. Sue Peabody) は、ゲームと物語が本質的にどう関わり合っているのかという研究のために文献を探すうちに、この『クロフォードのゲームデザイン論 −コンピュータゲームは芸術たりうるか−』 (The Art of Computer Game Design) という、絶版のため長く入手困難となっていた本を発見しました。そこで、スー・ピーボディ教授は、彼女の講座の学生やゲームデザインに興味を持っている人たちのために、この本を電子化してWeb上で公開する許可をクロフォード氏に対して願い出、受け入れられました。
