I’m glad you’re thinking about this stuff. I agree that Field has a way out, as he describes, but I think it comes at a significant cost. My initial statement of the problem wasn’t directed at Field, of course (I’d been working on this before Hartry was working on non-classical approaches to the paradoxes).
