Image credit: NASA 米航空宇宙局（NASA）は18日、系外惑星探査機「ケプラー（Kepler）」の観測によって、ハビタブルゾーン（生命居住可能領域）から地球とほぼ同じサイズの系外惑星を3個発見したと発表した。 発表によると、観測対象となったのは地球から約1200光年離れた恒星系「ケプラー62」と地球から約2700光年離れた恒星系「ケプラー69」。「ケプラー62」には5個の系外惑星が存在し、「ケプラー69」には2個の系外惑星が存在している。 「ケプラー62」のハビタブルゾーンには2個の系外惑星「ケプラー62e」と「ケプラー62f」が存在しており、特に「ケプラー62f」の大きさは地球のわずか1.4倍で、地球に最も似ている系外惑星である。また、「ケプラー62e」の大きさは地球の約1.6倍で、ハビタブルゾーンの端に位置している。 一方、「ケプラー69」のハビタブルゾーンに位置して
