Yes, Podcasts, those nice little Audiobooks I can listen to on the way to work. With the current amount of Podcasts, it's like searching a needle in a haystack, except that the haystack happens to be the Internet and is filled with too many of these "Hot new Gadgets" stuff :( Now, even though I am mainly a .NET developer nowadays, maybe anyone knows some good Podcasts from people regarding the who
I ran into this example where s1 < s2 and s2 < s3 but (s1 < s3) is false: var str1 = "あいかぎ" var str2 = "あいかくしつ" var str3 = "あいがみ:" print(str1 < str2) // True print(str2 < str3) // True print(str1 < str3) // False (?) Is this a bug or it is true that we cannot rely on string comparison is transitive (this breaks my sorting of string array)? I'm running Swift 3. Update: all of these are False print(
I am using this methods for playing video with AVPlayer: audioPlayer = [[AVPlayer playerWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:url]] retain]; avPlayerLayer = [[AVPlayerLayer playerLayerWithPlayer:audioPlayer] retain]; [avPlayerLayer setFrame:self.view.bounds]; [audioPlayer play]; I search for a way to get notification every-time in the stream process (something like 1%,10%,25%,50%,60%......), can i get some
I'm trying to create a setup where when I do a "docker run" off a Dockerfile that I've created, docker will install and setup mysql, and then create a database for me to use. Below is my simple docker file that pulls from the existing dockerfile/mysql FROM dockerfile/mysql COPY dbsetup.sql /tmp/dbsetup.sql RUN bash -c "/usr/bin/mysqld_safe &" && \ sleep 5 && \ mysql -u root -e "CREATE DATABASE myd
I'm hoping to use either Haskell or OCaml on a new project because R is too slow. I need to be able to use support vectory machines, ideally separating out each execution to run in parallel. I want to use a functional language and I have the feeling that these two are the best so far as performance and elegance are concerned (I like Clojure, but it wasn't as fast in a short test). I am leaning tow
I am trying to use python to change the hostname in a url, and have been playing around with the urlparse module for a while now without finding a satisfactory solution. As an example, consider the url: https://www.google.dk:80/barbaz I would like to replace "www.google.dk" with e.g. "www.foo.dk", so I get the following url: https://www.foo.dk:80/barbaz. So the part I want to replace is what urlpa

Rails 5.1 removes the config/initializers/session_store.rb file. The upgrading guide doesn't mention it. Can someone explain why it was removed and what we should do with our existing file? My current file looks like the following: Rails.application.config.session_store( :cookie_store, :key => '_foo_session', # any value :secure => Rails.env.production? || Rails.env.staging?, # Only send cookie ov
I am struggling with this issue for more than 6 hours. I want to remove the validation from Spree::Order module Spree class Order < Spree::Base MONEY_THRESHOLD = 100_000_000 MONEY_VALIDATION = { presence: true, numericality: { greater_than: -MONEY_THRESHOLD, less_than: MONEY_THRESHOLD, allow_blank: true }, format: { with: /\A-?\d+(?:\.\d{1,2})?\z/, allow_blank: true } }.freeze NEGATIVE_MONEY_VALID
You can find an overview of a lot of design patterns in Wikipedia. It also mentions which patterns are mentioned by GoF. I'll sum them up here and try to assign as many pattern implementations as possible, found in both the Java SE and Java EE APIs. Creational patterns Abstract factory (recognizeable by creational methods returning the factory itself which in turn can be used to create another abs
Consider this working code: from multiprocessing import Process from updaters import app1, app2 if __name__ == '__main__': apps = [ app1, app2] for app in apps: instance = app() p = Process(target=instance.start_listener) p.start() p.join() This works fine until one process fails (lets say some exception) - how Can I programmatically monitor the process and restart it if it fails
The problem is that my View, containing a UIView and a UITableView within a ScrollView, gets hidden under the UINavigationBar if set translucent. I have considered several threads like this, but they all suggest to set: self.edgesForExtendedLayout = UIRectEdgeNone In Swift 2, this code was: self.edgesForExtendedLayout = .None I have updated to Xcode 8.1 and Swift 3.0.1 today, but I can't find anyt
I'm reading 'Professional Javascript for Web Developers' Chapter 4 and it tells me that the five types of primitives are: undefined, null, boolean, number and string. If null is a primitive, why does typeof(null) return "object"? Wouldn't that mean that null is passed by reference (I'm assuming here all objects are passed by reference), hence making it NOT a primitive?
First, allow me to compliment you on your fine pw0n1e icon. This is a tricky question to answer, largely because there are so many variants of both miniKanren and Prolog. miniKanren and Prolog are really families of languages, which makes it difficult to compare their features, or even how they are used in practice. Because of this, please take everything I'm about to say with caution: if I say th
Are there any issues with using async/await in a forEach loop? I'm trying to loop through an array of files and await on the contents of each file. import fs from 'fs-promise' async function printFiles () { const files = await getFilePaths() // Assume this works fine files.forEach(async (file) => { const contents = await fs.readFile(file, 'utf8') console.log(contents) }) } printFiles() This code d
Ok so I found this great article about efficiency when writing a docker file. This is an example of a bad docker file adding the application code before running the RUN npm install instruction: FROM ubuntu RUN echo "deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu precise main universe" > /etc/apt/sources.list RUN apt-get update RUN apt-get -y install python-software-properties git build-essential RUN add-apt
