「９―３÷１／３＋１」の答えは？ ある大手自動車部品メーカーが、高卒と大卒の技術者の新入社員をテストしたところ、正答率は４割にとどまった。中部経済連合会が３日に発表した、ものづくりの競争力についての提言に、能力低下の事例として盛り込まれた。 この大手部品メーカーは毎年、同様の算数テストを行っており、１９８０年代の正答率は９割だった。 基礎学力の低下のほかにも、中経連が会員企業に行った調査によると、企業が学生に求める能力と、実際の能力に差が広がっている。企業が採用の際に重視する能力は「コミュニケーション」がトップの８７％。一方、学生に低下を感じるのもコミュニケーションが５９％と最も多かった。
