今週のコラムニスト：レジス・アルノー 〔１２月２６日号掲載〕 私の知る限り、大都市なのに安全な街は東京だけだ。東京にいるときは昼も夜も安心し切っている。04年に今の家に引っ越したが、引っ越し早々に家の鍵をなくしたので鍵は掛けず、ノックすらせずに出入りしている。スクーターを駐車してその場から離れるときもヘルメットはシートに置いたままだ。「泥棒が怖くないのか？」と聞くフランス人の友人には、私のヘルメットを盗むほど切羽詰まっている日本人がいたら、同じ人間としてヘルメットくらいくれてやるさと答えた。自転車にも鍵を掛けない。それでも無くならないのだから本当にうれしくなる。 私は今では３人の子供の父親だ。フランスより麻薬がはるかに手に入りにくく、子供たちが盗まれる側にも盗む側にもなる心配が少ない国に暮らせて幸せだと、毎朝しみじみ思う。 オレオレ詐欺のような犯罪はあるが、フランスに比べればまだましだ。フ
