Windows 8のModern（旧Metro）モードではNPAPIプラグインが動作しない。しかし、Chromeが採用するPepperプラグインは動作するので、同梱のFlash PlayerやPDFビューアを従来どおり使うことができる。

Fx16：FirefoxのクラッシュレポータがFlashPlayerPlugin_*.exeプロセスに対応。Flash Player 11.3のサンドボックスが機能している場合に発生したクラッシュの原因を分析しやすくなった。

セキュリティ面で大きいのはプラグインのClick to Play。URLのインライン自動補完は「ロケーションバーから開いたことがないページのURLは補完対象になりません」の点が微妙。サイト情報表示UIもSSL接続のときわかりにくい。
