敬語 - 偉愚庵亭憮録
敬語についてつらつら考えているうちに、関西弁に行き当たった。 知っている人は知っていると思うが、私は関西の人たちがちょっと苦手だ。関西弁にも若干アレルギーじみた感覚を持っている。 それでも、敬語に関しては、彼らの方が賢い対処法を知っていると思う。 関西の言葉には、伝統の中で熟成された、ニュアンスの豊かさがある。 その点、東京の言葉は、しょせん人工言語だ。地付きの江戸弁を漂白脱色して共通語をひとつでっちあげました、という感じだろうか。 東京の言葉（以下、「共通語」とする。個人的には「標準語」という言い方の方が馴染み深いのだが、最近はあんまり使わないようなので）は、論理を構築するには都合が良い。万事明快で外来語や漢語との相性も良い。翻訳調の生硬な文体ともやりとりができるし、漢文の書き下し文と並べても型崩れしない。つまり、文章語としてはとてもよくできているわけです。 でも、話し言葉としての機能は
