フランス議会、Windowsを捨てLinuxに移行へ
フランスでは国家憲兵隊と文化通信省に続き、議会がオープンソースへの移行に乗りだした。 2007年6月以降、フランス議会で使用されるPCにはLinux OSとオープンソースの生産性ソフトウェアが搭載されるようになる。 国民運動連合（UMP）のRichard Cazenave議員とBernard Carayon議員が推し進めるプロジェクトの下、フランス議会のLinuxワークステーション1154台に、「OpenOffice.org」生産性ソフトウェアと「Firefox」ウェブブラウザのほか、オープンソースの電子メールクライアントが搭載されることになる。 議会の広報担当によると、採用されるLinuxディストリビューションや電子メールクライアントはまだ具体的に決まっていないという。現在、議会では一部のサーバがLinuxで動作しており、「Apache」ウェブサーバと「Mambo」コンテンツ管理システム
