Tens of thousands of people, including Nasa scientists, amateur astronomers and holiday-makers from around the world, have gathered in Queensland for Australia's first full solar eclipse for a decade. Onlookers had a magnificent view of the sun, completely obscured by the silhouette of the moon. Partial eclipses will also be visible in northern New Zealand and parts of central Chile.
