アマゾン・ドットコム、ゲームダウンロードサービスに参入
Amazon.comは米国時間2月3日、ゲームダウンロードサービスを開始した。新しいオンラインサービスでは、物理メディアのやりとりを介在させない形で600以上のカジュアルタイトルが提供される。Amazonによれば、ローンチ時のタイトルはすべて6.99ドルか9.99ドルで販売され、古いタイトルほど安い価格設定になっているという。現在は1週間のキャンペーンも実施中で、ゲーム3タイトルを無料で配布している。 Amazon.comがカジュアルゲームサービスのReflexive Entertainmentを買収してから2カ月強の月日が経つ。Reflexive Entertainmentは今も独自のデジタル著作権管理（DRM）技術とオンラインストアで商品を販売し続けている。Amazonの場合、ゲームを購入するには、MP3サービスで音楽トラックを買うときと同様、独自のダウンロードツールを用いる必要がある
メディア・パブ: 学生中心であったFacebook，中高年ユーザーが急増
学生向けＳＮＳであったFacebookも，中高年ユーザーの割合が急速に高まっているようだ。iStrategyLabsが公表した米Facebookユーザーのデモグラフィックスデータによると，34～54歳の中高年層が，1年2ヶ月の間に約10倍もユーザー数が増えていた。 iStrategyLabsの調査は，第1回の07年10月22日，第2回の08年6月18日に次いで，今回の09年1月4日が3回目である。年齢層別のユーザー数の推移グラフは次のようになる。勢いのあるFacebookではすべての年齢層でユーザー数が増えているが，伸び率は若年層が鈍化しているのに対し，中高年層が急成長しているのが大きな特徴である。 たとえば，07年10月22日では18～24歳の若年層のユーザー数が1233万人で61.8%も占めていたのが，09年1月4日では1719万人と増えてはいるものの割合が40.8%と減った。逆に34
