農作物のイノシシ被害が深刻な佐賀県武雄市が４月をめどに「いのしし課」（仮称）を新設する。駆除したイノシシ肉はブランド化して都会に売り込む狙い。うまい具合に「一石二猪（いっせきにちょ）」といくかどうか。同じ被害に悩まされている他の自治体から注目されそうだ。 武雄市の被害は、０６年度が山間部を中心に水稲と大豆で１５７０万円、０７年度が水稲で４６３万円。人の被害はないが、夜になると車と衝突したり、市街地近くまで出てきたりする。市は毎年７〜１０月を駆除期間にして地元猟友会に駆除を依頼しており、期間中、０６年度は１４１１頭、０７年度は７９７頭を駆除した。 今年度は１頭６千円の捕獲報奨金を８９５頭分、予算化したが、駆除は１５４１頭に上り、猟友会から追加要請が出ているという。報奨金が出ない１１月〜翌年３月の狩猟期間にもほぼ同数が駆除されており、人口約５万人の市に約３万頭のイノシシが生息していると推測
