I am running Symfony (1.2.9) with PHP Version 5.2.11 on Windows XP. I have APC installed (Version 3.0.19) I can run PHP script to prove that apc is working correctly (works). However, when I try to use APC calls in a symfony action, I get this error (in the apache error.log file): [apc-error] Cannot redeclare class sfconfig Which promptly crashes Apache. I put this in my .ackrc: --type-set=DUMB=*.orig --noDUMB ... but I'm still seeing files like main.py.orig in my ack results. I tried doing --type-set=DUMB=*.*.orig too, but that didn't work either. A process is considered to have completed correctly in Linux if its exit status was 0. I've seen that segmentation faults often result in an exit status of 11, though I don't know if this is simply the convention where I work (the applications that failed like that have all been internal) or a standard. Are there standard exit codes for processes in Linux?
I have a small server program that accepts connections on a TCP or local UNIX socket, reads a simple command and (depending on the command) sends a reply. The problem is that the client may have no interest in the answer and sometimes exits early. So writing to that socket will cause a SIGPIPE and make my server crash. I'm sure there must be a way to do this. As you are probably aware the latest versions of Xcode (and in fact I think all versions of Xcode) on Leopard come with GCC 4.0.1 and GCC 4.2. GCC 4.0.1 is the default system compiler while GCC 4.2 is an optional compiler you can set in the Xcode project settings. Does anyone know how to set GCC 4.2 as the default compiler for all options?
