はじめまして。今年の5月に入社した勝間@さがすチームです。 入社してからは、なかなか大変なことも多いですが、最近はお酒好きが集まって月曜から飲み合う 「勝間会」なるものも発足して、仕事面でも仕事以外の面でも密度の高い毎日を過ごしています! さて、僕は「さがす」チーム所属ということで、普段はレシピを「さがす」ユーザの満足度を上げるために、 クックパッドの検索まわりについて、いろいろな開発を行っています。 一方で、ユーザの「さがす欲求」について深く知るために、大規模なデータ解析を行い、欲求の分析を行う機会も増えてきました。 ところが、クックパッドのログは膨大な数があるので、一口のデータ解析と言っても通常のバッチ処理だと間に合わないため、 分散処理環境の必要性が高まってきました。 そこで、まずは手軽に試せる分散処理の王道ということで、最近ではHadoopを使ったデータ解析環境を整備しています。
Google、大規模データをリアルタイムに分析できるクラウドサービス「Google Cloud Dataflow」を発表。「1年前からMapReduceは使っていない」。Google I/O 2014 大規模分散処理のフレームワークとしてGoogleが開発し、Hadoopに採用されて広く使われているMapReduce。しかしGoogleはもうMapReduceを使わず、より優れた処理系の「Google Cloud Dataflow」を使っていることが、Google I/O 2014の基調講演で明らかにされました。 GoogleのシニアバイスプレジデントUrs Hölzle氏は、「エクサバイトのスケールまで扱え、パイプライン処理を記述しやすく最適化もしてくれる。それにバッチもリアルタイム分析も同じコードで記述できる」と、Cloud Dataflowの特長を説明します。 Google I/Oの
グーグルは、同社内でパラレルデータ処理に利用している言語「Sawzall」を、「Szl」というプロジェクト名のオープンソースとして公開しました。 書籍「Googleを支える技術」によると、Sawzallは分散処理のためにデザインされたDSL(Domain Specific Language)で、特定の用途に限っては非常に容易に処理を記述できるようになっているインタープリタ型のプログラミング言語。GFS(Google File System)とMapReduceを基盤とし、MapReduceをより簡単に実行できるものと説明されています。 なぜSawzallはオープンソースとして公開されたのか? グーグルは2003年8月に、論文「Interpreting the Data: Parallel Analysis with Sawzall」を発表し、これによってSawzallという言語がグーグルに
グーグルが「Evolution and Future Directions of Large-Scale Storage and Computation Systems at Google」(グーグルにおける、大規模ストレージとコンピュテーションの進化と将来の方向性)という講演を、6月に行われたACM(米国計算機学会)主催のクラウドコンピューティングのシンポジウム「ACM Symposium on Cloud Computing 2010」で行っています。 グーグルはどのようにして大規模分散システムを構築してきたのか、そして、そこからどのようなことを学んだのかが語られていますし、後半では大規模分散システムのデザインパターンという、非常に興味深いノウハウも公開している、非常に情報量の多い講演です。 その講演の内容を、全部で4つの記事、MapReduce編、BigTable編、教訓編、デザイン
少し前にログの話を書いた http://d.hatena.ne.jp/naoya/20130219/1361262854 ときに、Treasure Data については後日にもう少し詳細に書くと言ったので書くとしよう。 近頃 Treasure Data (以下、時折 TD) という名前をちらほら聞いたことがある人は多いのではないかと思います。「ビッグデータのクラウドサービスである」とか「日本人が創業したシリコンバレーのベンチャー」、あるいは Yahoo! 創業者の Jerry Yang が投資したとか、Fluentd と何か関係があるといった文脈などなど。 けど、具体的に Treasure Data がどういうサービスで、どういう機能を持っていて、どんな場面で利用されるものなのかはまだあまり良く知られていないかもしれない・・・ようにも見える。今日はその辺から少し紹介していこうかなと思う。
2012年の現在、割と悩んでいるのでメモっておく。 年度末ぐらいに再調査の予定。・・なので暫定ですよ。 まず前提として、現行のHadoopの実行フレームワークであるMapReduceは、実行効率は決して良くはないです。この辺が割と辛い。 とはいえ、大規模並列処理を一般的に行うという観点での品質や取り回しを考えた場合、”結果として”非常にバランスがとれており、普及している。その上で、このMapReduceですが、今後の見通しについては、潮流は今のところ二つに割れているよう見える。ので、その辺のメモ。 ■YARN 一つの方向性は、現在のHadoop2.0系で実装されているMapReduce2.0、というか、MapReduceとは別の実行基盤を利用するという方向ですね。すなわちBSPや、MPIを利用する。要は、今までの並列処理の成果をそのまま利用しましょう、という流れに近い。 MapReduce
