オープンソースをはじめ、サイズの大きいファイルをBitTorrentで配布することが珍しくなくなってきた。問題のあるファイルもあるが、帯域の有効活用という面においてはBitTorrentの果たしている役割は大きい。 しかし、専用クライアントソフトウェアが必要とあっては、利用に一手間かかってしまう。torrentファイルの配布は大抵Webサイト上で行っているので、ブラウザに内包できれば一番手軽だろう。 今回紹介するオープンソース・ソフトウェアはFoxTorrent、FirefoxにBitTorrentクライアント機能をつけられるFirefox アドオンだ。 FoxTorrentをインストールすると、torrentファイルをクリックすると、自動でダウンロードが開始されるようになる。手間隙かけずに使えるので非常に便利だ。 専用クライアントソフトウェアと違って、機能はあまり多くない。単純にダウンロ
