ニューヨーク（ＣＮＮＭｏｎｅｙ） 百科事典サイトのウィキペディアは１０日までに、英大衆紙デイリー・メールの記事について「全般的に信頼できない」という判断から引用を禁止すると発表した。ウィキペディアがこうした措置を講じるのは異例。 デイリー・メールの記事の信憑性を巡っては、ウィキペディアにボランティアで貢献する編集者の間で以前から活発な論議が交わされてきた。編集者らは８日、「事実関係のチェックの乏しさ、センセーショナリズム、完全なでっち上げ」というデイリー・メールの評判を根拠として、引用禁止の方針を決めたと説明した。 この判断に基づき、デイリー・メールや傘下のサイトに関して、ウィキペディアへの記事引用は全般的に禁止するとした。「とりわけ信頼できる情報源がほかに存在する場合に」、当該の措置が取られるという。 さらに、デイリー・メールを引用しようとすると警告が出る「編集フィルター」の導入も勧告。
