流行語大賞サイトにAmazon EC2活用 アクセス集中する年末限定で
「2009ユーキャン新語・流行語大賞」のWebサイトに、Amazonのクラウドサービス「EC2」とデータ配信サービス「CloudFront」を活用したと、同サイトのサーバ増強を担当するシステム開発のイースト（東京都渋谷区）が発表した。 同サイトのページビュー（PV）は通常、1日に1万6000～1万7000程度だが、流行語大賞を発表する11月末～12月半ばは100万～160万程度に急増するため、イーストが毎年末、サーバを増強してきた。 従来は同社のデータセンターを利用していたが、回線が圧迫され、サイトにアクセスしづらくなることがあった上、ハードウェアをセットアップする手間もかかっていたため、今年はEC2とCloudFrontを導入したという。 昨年はピーク時、サイト表示に時間がかかったが、今年はピーク時でも快適に表示できたという。「昨年まではサイト内の画像表示に時間がかかることが多かったが、
