Ubuntu 14.04 failed to boot after a failed upgrade to 16.04

I tried to install ubuntu 16.04 beta on my laptop which has ubuntu 14.04 installed 3 days before the official release. So I ran the command do-release upgrade -d The download went on well. But during installation, it started showing many errors and suddently the process stopped saying that "too many errors were encountered during the process". I did'nt know what to do. So I restarted the system. B

How do I disable overlay scrollbars?

It looks like Ubuntu 11.04 will come with overlay scrollbars by default. I do like them, but I don't like the current mix of scrollbar types as many applications don't yet use those overlay scrollbars. Is there a way to disable overlay scrollbars (without removing the overlay-scrollbar package)?
