縄文時代に興味を持ち、土偶や土器などを愛でる一人として久しぶりに大変楽しい読書時間を過ごせた１冊が文学通信刊「土偶を読むを読む」 だ。本書は竹倉史人著「土偶を読む」（晶文社）を大検証!…と銘打ったもので竹倉史人著「土偶を読む」の主論である土偶は「植物」の姿をかたどった植物像…という説に緻密な検証をしながら論破していく１冊…。 まず印象深いのは著者望月昭秀の筆がとても分かりやすく読みやすいことだった。とかく専門的な話になるこの種の著作は読みにくく途中で放り投げたくなるものだが本書は素人の読者を上手に導いてく…。 ※文学通信刊「土偶を読むを読む」表紙 始めに申し上げておくと私は竹倉史人著「土偶を読む」（晶文社）は読んでいない。第43回サントリー学芸賞を受賞し、養老孟司氏やいとうせいこう氏推薦を掲げる本書だが「土偶は植物の姿をかたどった植物像という説」には始めから大きな違和感を感じ一種のトンデモ
