Recently, Hacker News got ahold of Gregory Szorc’s article on monolithic repositories, and even Wired is weighing in on how big codebases should be organized. While the discussion is interesting, it seems to focus on two extremes: on the one hand, putting all of a company’s code into a single monolithic repository, and, on the other hand, breaking a big company’s code code up into many, many small
