地方都市の公立の学校でごく普通の教育を受け、国立の学部、修士に淡々と進んで、東京で4年働いて、辞めて、シンガポールで1年勉強して、1年半働いて今に至る。 前に書いた通り日本が嫌いだとか、英語を使った仕事がしたいとかそんなことは全然ないし、アジア飯が好きかというと別にそうでもない。単に自分がどこまで通用するのか知りたかっただけなんだろう。海外で働きたいというよりも、日本人であることを削ぎ落とした場所で自分の価値をどれだけ出せるのか試してみたかったんだろう。 専門知識、実務経験、学歴、貯金など使えるものを総動員して、今かろうじて生き延びている。エンジニアやアスリートやアーティストじゃなくても、どっぷり日本の教育に浸かった自分が日本に頼らず働けるんだということがわかってよかった。勇午のような超人的な回復力やキートンのようなサバイバルスキルがなくても、大丈夫なんだということがわかってよかった。31
