ベース・オブ・ピラミッド（ＢＯＰ）と呼ばれる途上国の低所得者層を対象とした事業を支援しようと経済産業省は４日、ＢＯＰビジネス研究会（座長・勝俣宣夫丸紅会長）を発足させた。ＢＯＰビジネスとは、途上国の貧困削減・経済開発と先進国企業の収益を両立させるもので欧米勢が先行している。少子高齢化で国内市場が伸び悩む日本企業にとって、国際展開の新たな形態になる。研究会は、来年１月までにＢＯＰビジネス支援に必要な施策を取りまとめる。 経産省がＢＯＰビジネスに着目したのは、慈善事業などと違って収益が伴うため持続可能性があり、成功例が相次いでいるからだ。例えば、英日用品大手のユニリーバは、インドで洗剤・シャンプーを小袋に分けて安く販売したところ、多くの人が毎日使うようになり、公衆衛生の改善に貢献するとともに収益も上げた。現地で約３０万人の雇用も生んでいる。 このほか、国際石油資本の英蘭系ロイヤル・ダッ
