9 to 5 Macによると、Appleの｢Apple iBeacon｣という未発表製品がFCC（米連邦通信委員会）の認証を取得していた事が分かりました。 そのモデル番号は｢A1573｣で、ハードウェアテストは2014年4月末から5月中旬にかけて実施され、公開された添付画像から本体底面にはMicro-USBポートと電源スイッチがある事が分かり、2.4GHz帯の無線周波数に対応しているようです。 Appleの未発表製品がFCCで漏れる事は稀ですが、AppleはApple Storeで使用しているサードパーティ製｢iBeacon｣と置き換える為か、｢iBeacon｣テクノロジーを使用したい開発者や小売店へ販売する為に独自のiBeaconハードウェアを開発しているのではないかとみられています。 9to5 FCC doc
