diffとは何か diffとは２つのテキストファイルの差分を抽出する時に使うツールで、プログラムを組む人、それもUnix系のOSで動くソフトウェアを作っている人には欠かせないもの。 （なぜUnix系のプログラマに欠かせないのかについてはソフトウェア配布の歴史をググればわかる事なので、あえてここでは触れないでおく） なぜGUIのdiffなのか WindowsやMacのプログラマでも差分ツールを使うこともあるが、出自がコンソールのUnixとは違い、GUIが基本*1のOSであるが故にほとんどの人はGUIの差分ツールを使う。 だいたい最近のプログラマはDOSすら知らないからコンソールのツールなんか勧めた日には「ハァ？」と言われるのが関の山である。 WindowsならオープンソースGUI差分ツール「WinMerge」があるのでとりあえず良いとして、Macで動くGUIツールは良いのがなかなか見当たらな
