「宇宙学校」、都内でも説明会 ＪＡＸＡ提携の全寮制：朝日新聞デジタル
【橋田正城】鹿児島県肝付町に２０１５年４月に開校する県立楠隼（なんしゅん）中学・高校が、東京など全国から生徒を募集している。公立としては全国初の全寮制男子校で、宇宙航空研究開発機構（ＪＡＸＡ）と提携し、航空宇宙教育のモデル校を目指す。受験指導を徹底しながら「宇宙学」も学べる学校だ。来年２月に東京都内で説明会が開かれる。 楠隼中高は、大隅半島にある県立高山（こうやま）高校の敷地内に開校する。高山高は１６年３月末で閉校。同校の校舎を改築し、個室・空調完備の寮を新設する。総工費は４８億円。初年度は中高各６０人を募集。寮費は１カ月４万円台を見込んでいる。 学校の約２０キロ南西にはＪＡＸＡの内之浦宇宙空間観測所がある。２００３年には小惑星探査機「はやぶさ」が打ち上げられ、今年９月には新型固体燃料ロケット「イプシロン」も発射された。
