Eclipse RCP (Rich Client Platform) applications leverage the Eclipse framework to build feature-rich, standalone desktop applications. An Eclipse application consists of individual software components called plug-ins, which can use and extend other plug-ins. For instance, a plug-in can add new entries to a menu defined by another plug-in.
