今年の Google I/O で発表された、 Google Storage for Developers （以下GSfD）というサービスをご存知でしょうか。数ギガバイトクラスの巨大なデータを、 RESTful API で使って Google クラウドに保存・アクセスできるという、いわば Google 版の Amazon S3 です。発表直後にダメもとでアカウントを申請した後すっかり忘却の彼方だったのですが、先日になって唐突にインビテーションが届いたので、本日はその使い方をご紹介します。 GSfD には Web インターフェースやコマンドラインツール、 Python のクライアントライブラリが用意されていますが、 Web 開発者としてはやっぱり API 経由での使い方をマスターしたいところ。ここは敢えて Ruby から Web API を直で叩く方法に挑戦してみました。日本語はもちろん英語で

昨年のGoogle I/Oで発表され、招待制で提供されてきたGoogle Storageが一般向けに公開された。 米Googleは5月10日（現地時間）、昨年のGoogle I/Oで発表した開発者向けのオンラインストレージサービス「Google Storage for Developers」を一般向けに公開したと発表した。これまでは招待が必要だった。 Google Storage for Developersは、Googleのデータセンターにデータを保管できるクラウドストレージサービス。招待制の間、100Gバイトのストレージと月間300Gバイトまでの帯域を無料で利用できた。SSLをサポートし、グループでのデータ共有が可能。 一般公開に当たり、OAuth 2.0に対応した。また、Googleアカウントを持っているユーザーであればストレージ上でデータを共有できるようになった。アップロードできる
