米Microsoft Corporationは22日（現地時間）、エクスプローラ上に画像のExif情報を表示できるようにするアドオン「Microsoft Photo Info」v1.0 英語版を公開した。Windows XP/Vistaに対応するフリーソフトで、現在同社のホームページからダウンロードできる。なお動作には.NET Framework 2.0が必要。 「Microsoft Photo Info」は、エクスプローラ上のツールチップや詳細表示に、画像のExif情報を表示できるようにするアドオン。対応する画像形式はJPEG/TIFF形式のほか、キヤノン製およびニコン製デジカメのRAW形式であるCRW/CR2/NEF、マイクロソフトが開発した次世代画像形式“HD Photo”となっている。 インストール後、エクスプローラ上で対応ファイルをマウスオーバーすると、撮影したデジカメの機種名、
