『アイノ』(アクセリ・ガッレン=カッレラ、1891年) - ワイナミョイネンは乙女アイノに求婚するが、アイノはそれを厭って見知らぬ海辺で溺れ死ぬ 『カレワラ』(Kalevala、カレヴァラ) は、カレリアとフィンランドの民族叙事詩。[1]19世紀に医師エリアス・リョンロート(Elias Lönnrot, 1802年 - 1884年)によって民間説話からまとめられた。フィンランド語の文学のうち最も重要なもののうちの一つで、フィンランドを最終的に1917年のロシア帝国からの独立に導くのに多大な刺激を与えたとされている。名称は「カレワという部族の勇士たちの地」の意[2]。 リョンロートによる『カレワラ』は、1835年に2巻32章からなる叙事詩として出版され、当時の知識人階級に大きな衝撃を与えた。その後、それを増補し、1849年には全50章からなる最終版として出版した。[3] フィンランドの作曲家
