【IDF2009】Intel製グラフィックスでメディア処理を加速，開発キットを公開
米Intel Corp.は，同社のグラフィックス描画処理LSI（GPU）で動画の符号化処理などを実行させるためのソフトウエア開発キット「Intel Media Software Development Kit」（Intel Media SDK）を公開した。同社 Vice President, General Manager, Software and Services GroupのRenee James氏が，「Intel Developer Forum 2009」（2009年9月22～24日，米国サンフランシスコ）におけるソフトウエア関連の基調講演で明らかにした。Intel Media SDKで定義されたAPIを使ってメディア処理のソフトウエアを記述しておくと，実行環境のパソコンが搭載するIntel社のGPUに適したライブラリ・ソフトウエアで符号化などの処理を実行する。
