図書館及び関連組織のための国際標準識別子ISIL ISO15511「図書館及び関連組織のための国際標準識別子」（International standard identifier for libraries and related organizations：ISIL）に対し、国立国会図書館が日本の登録機関としての準備を進めている。標準化の関係者にとっては長年の懸案が解決に向けて動き出すことになる。その名の通り、図書館等を識別するコードであるが、図書館関係者の間でもあまり知られていないこの識別子について解説し、その意義を述べる。 1. 構成 ISILは、16文字以内の可変長コードで英大文字、小文字、数字および3種類の記号（文字名でSOLIDUS「/」、COLON「:」、HYPHEN-MINUS「-」）のみを使用する。例をあげると、“GB-UkOxU-CC”というのが英国オックスフォード大
