「愛読書は?」。企業の採用選考の面接では、能力や適性に関係がない質問だとして「NG」とされるが、滋賀県教育委員会の高校生対象の独自調査で、愛読書を尋ねた事例が昨年度は前年度の3倍近くに増えたことがわかった。コロナ禍の「巣ごもり」で本を読む機会が増え、趣味を「読書」と答える生徒が増加したことが背景にあるとみられる。高校生の就職活動が続く中、厚生労働省は企業側に注意を促している。 採用側が能力や適性に関係ない事柄を質問することは就職差別につながる恐れがある。厚生労働省はホームページで、両親の仕事などの「家族」、愛読書や尊敬する人物などの「思想信条」に関することを不適切な質問として例示し、尋ねないよう呼びかけている。
