企業のIT支出、情シス非関与や海外向けが増加基調に
国内企業のIT投資動向は2014年度も横ばいで推移する見込みとなった。IDC Japanは7月2日、1220社のCIO（最高情報責任者）やそれに準ずる人を対象を実施したIT投資動向に関する調査結果を発表した。 2014年度のIT予算について前年比で「ほとんど／全く変わらない」とする企業が66.3％を占めた。投資先でが「ネットワーク／施設／ハードのセキュリティ強化／情報漏洩対策」（17.1％）や「モバイル機器用システム」（16.4％）が多く、企業の規模を問わず積極的な投資対象となることがうかがえるという。 また、情報システム部門が関与しない業務部門独自のIT予算（情報システム部門非関与予算）の状況は、「ある／あると思う」という回答が19.8％あり、特に1000人以上の大企業では38.8％に上っている。情報システム部門非関与予算が増加する理由は、「現場の要件をより速にシステムに反映するため」「
