Posted by Chris Sells, Product Manager, Flutter developer experience Today we’re pleased to announce Flutter 1.17, our first stable release of 2020. This year has been a challenging one for everyone. TODO: UI for hasUnreadMessages. Parse a message being composed, then show as a styled text such as for mention, url…
According to official documentation, ShaderMask is a widget that applies a mask generated by a shader to its child. What does this mean ? What is a Shader ? What does Mask mean ? I’ll try to explain its meaning with an example. Let’s say, for instance, to paint a house, you need two basic things: ColorPaint tools (Brush, ladder and so on)The tools such as brush which is used to apply color on the
TLDR; package, online example. A few months ago, in a project that I was working on, there was a need to create a custom refresh indicator to replace the default indicator provided with a flutter material library. Back in those days, I found it really hard to find some simple solutions or packages that will provide basic functionality on which I will be able to implement it. The one and only thing
Update: This article is now part of the official Flutter documentation. It was also translated to Russian by Kirill Matrosov; to Turkish by Suat Özkaya; to Persian by Saeed Hassankhan; and to Portuguese by Kaio de Oliveira. When someone learning Flutter asks you why some widget with width:100 is not 100 pixels wide, the default answer is to tell them to put that widget inside of a Center, right? D
⚠️ Disclaimer: this article was written a long time ago. Since then, both flame and flutter itself has changed a lot. Read more about Flame in the docs and see other examples here First of all, if you have never heard about Flutter, I have got good news: You are about to meet one of the most flexible ways to create a user interface. Flutter is an open source cross-platform mobile development framework developed by Google. Apps for which are written in Dart. Flutter comes pre-equipped with Material Design components which makes it very easy to create apps with good look and feel. In Flutter everything is a Widget- either stateless or stateful in kind. A note-taking app with usable design and functionalities is a good learning
In this article, I’ll explain how to useRouteObserver and RouteAware in Flutter to automatically track screen transitions. Why would I ever need to do that?Best case scenario when you develop an app that gets released is that it’s an immediate success and users love it and use it exactly the way you anticipated. Reality is usually not like that, and you will need every piece of information availab
Useful Information
One hurdle I recently overcame while developing a mobile Application using Flutter was the lack of a built in search bar Widget, analogous to a UISearchBar that is available when developing for iOS, a SearchView for android, or a SearchBar in React Native. I did manage to find a few Dart Packages that attempt to solve this issue, but elected to solve the issue myself in order to avoid relying on g
