Posted 11 February 2016 - totally overshadowed by some waving gravity thing. Thanks Einstein. Chrome is intending to change the behaviour of <link rel="stylesheet">, which will be noticeable when it appears within <body>. The impact and benefits of this aren't clear from the blink-dev post, so I wanted to go into detail here. Update: This is now in Chrome Canary. The current state of loading CSS <
PostCSS is a tool for transforming styles with JS plugins. These plugins can support variables and mixins, transpile future CSS syntax,
MENUAfter what appears an eternity to us and the wider development community we are ecstatic to announce the release of Modernizr 3.0! This is a massive release and from our last release almost 2.5 years have passed - an unacceptable timeline. We plan to fix this and have faster releases where it makes sense. What's new and exciting?A lot! We restructured how we write our detects. we no longer hav
For years I’ve struggled with CSS. Remember Damien Newman’s squiggle as a visual representation of the design process? Flip it and you’ll have a perfect depiction of any CSS project: At least in my case, every new project starts out extremely well-organized, then pretty soon turns into a complete mess. The problem is mostly me, but I blame CSS for it as well. CSS is an unstructured language. Every
In this article we’ll take a look at the wonderful world of the CSS Grid Layout, a relatively new W3C specification that has partially started to see the day in some browsers. But before we dive into what this new CSS technique is all about and how to use it, let’s quickly review grid theory. My really short introduction to grid theory I am not a designer nor did I know much about grid theory befo

$ npm install -g stylestats $
Don’t you just hate documentaries that don’t deliver? They have enticing names like In Search of the Giant Squid, and tease you with shots of murky underwater shapes and excited scientists pointing far out to sea. You settle down to watch, eyes narrowed with suspicion, thinking, “I better see some squid or I’m writing an angry letter to the network.” Sure enough, 90 minutes of interviews with bore
