What Is ChatGPT Doing … and Why Does It Work? February 14, 2023 It’s Just Adding One Word at a Time That ChatGPT can automatically generate something that reads even superficially like human-written text is remarkable, and unexpected. But how does it do it? And why does it work? My purpose here is to give a rough outline of what’s going on inside ChatGPT—and then to explore why it is that it can d
High-performance speech recognition with no supervision at all What the research is:Whether it’s giving directions, answering questions, or carrying out requests, speech recognition makes life easier in countless ways. But today the technology is available for only a small fraction of the thousands of languages spoken around the globe. This is because high-quality systems need to be trained with l
A long-term objective of artificial intelligence is to build “multimodal” neural networks—AI systems that learn about concepts in several modalities, primarily the textual and visual domains, in order to better understand the world. In our latest research announcements, we present two neural networks that bring us closer to this goal. The first neural network, DALL·E, can successfully turn tex
i.am.ai AI Expert Roadmap Roadmap to becoming an Artificial Intelligence Expert in 2022 Below you find a set of charts demonstrating the paths that you can take and the technologies that you would want to adopt in order to become a data scientist, machine learning or an AI expert. We made these charts for our new employees to make them AI Experts but we wanted to share them here to help the commun
Only 10% of companies obtain significant financial benefits from artificial intelligence technologies. Why so few? Our research shows that these companies intentionally change processes, broadly and deeply, to facilitate organizational learning with AI. Better organizational learning enables them to act precisely when sensing opportunity and to adapt quickly when conditions change. Their strategic
We’re releasing an API for accessing new AI models developed by OpenAI. Unlike most AI systems which are designed for one use-case, the API today provides a general-purpose “text in, text out” interface, allowing users to try it on virtually any English language task. You can now request access in order to integrate the API into your product, develop an entirely new application, or help us explore
AI Transformation Playbook How to lead your company into the AI era PLAYBOOK AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology is now poised to transform every industry, just as electricity did 100 years ago. Between now and 2030, it will create an estimated $13 trillion of GDP growth. While it has already created tremendous value in leading technology companies such as Google, Baidu, Microsoft and Facebook
At its heart, AI is computer programming that learns and adapts. It can’t solve every problem, but its potential to improve our lives is profound. At Google, we use AI to make products more useful—from email that’s spam-free and easier to compose, to a digital assistant you can speak to naturally, to photos that pop the fun stuff out for you to enjoy. Beyond our products, we’re using AI to help pe
