阪急百貨店、子供の頃は大好きでした。5階の本屋で購入した1976年ゴルフ年鑑は、食い入るように読み大切に持っていました。同じく5階のレコード屋さんで買った「アランドロン映画音楽全集」は、今も持っています。本もレコードも、他店とは違う品揃えでした。 百貨店というだけあり、自分の住んでいる町では買えない、ガリ版・鉄筆・謄写機・ロウ原紙など一式を、小学校5年の時に購入したのは忘れられません。 以上は小学校高学年以降の記憶ですが、学校に行く以前の記憶になると、8階にあった阪急百貨店の開業時の面影を残す、レトロな雰囲気の大食堂です。銀色の食器にナイフとフォークは、印象深く記憶しています。名物はカレーだったそうですが、僕は「オムライス」を食べました。 でも、僕が行ったのは1度だけで、百貨店で買い物をした後、最寄りの駅前の安い食堂で食事をするのがたまの贅沢でした。ジュースは、家の近所で買う倍以上の値段だ
